Controller for quantity of passing light

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To hold the quantity of passing quantity at an optional constant value regardless of incident light which varies abruptly by varying the quantity of attenuation of a passing light attenuating means according to the quantity of passing light. CONSTITUTION:The incident light 4 which varies in quantity with light is attenuated by passing through the passing light attenuating means 1 which varies in the quantity of passing attenuation to obtain passing light 5. A photoelectric converting means 2 converts the quantity of the passing light 5 into an electric light quantity signal 6, which is sent out to an attenuation quantity control means 3. The control means 3 compares the light quantity signal 6 with a reference value input 7 and sends out an attenuation quantity control signal 8 to the attenuating means 1 according to an increase in the light quantity signal 6 when the light quantity signal 6 exceeds the reference value 7, thereby increasing the quantity of passing attenuation. Thus, the incident light 4 is attenuated by the passing attenuating means 1 according to the quantity of light to obtain the passing light 5.
