Unified thin film magnetic head
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a unified thin film magnetic head improved in efficiency of recording, heightened in S/N ratio of reproduction output that can use a vapor deposited tape and capable of high density record reproduction by forming a magnetic induction type recording head and a magnetic reluctance effect (MR) type reproducing head independently and successively on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The recording head section is constituted of laminated member from a ferromagnetic substrate 20 to a magnetic ball 30. The reproducing head unit section is constituted of laminated member from a ferromagnetic thin film 32 to front and back magnetic yokes 28, 39. By this constitution, manufacturing process of the reproducing head becomes near to final process, and accordingly, number of times of exposure to heat of the MR element is small, and deterioration of magnetic characteristic is bettered remarkably, and reproduction characteristic over all tracks can be made uniform. Further, even in the case of multi-track, all tracks can be dealt with by forming a groove 21, and recording efficiency of the recording head unit can be improved. As the MR element 36 is far from the tip of the head, use of a conductive vapor deposited tape is possible.
