Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the dot printer of small size consuming a small amount of power, by having the construction where the wire pin is impacted by utilizing the strain due to piezoelectric effect. CONSTITUTION:The lower end part of piezoelectric material 4 of which both side surfaces are respectively attached with electrodes 5, is fixed to a fitting member 3, and its upper end is connected to the lower ends of the first and second movable membes 15 and 17 via the first and second combination members 8 and 10. When voltage is applied to both side surfaces of piezoelectric material 4, between both electrodes 5 in piezoelectric materials 4 (another electrode is not seen due to the shade of piezoelectric material 4 in the figure) the electric field in the direction almost parallel to its longitudinal direction is generated and the piezoelectric material 4 is elongated in the longitudinal direction due to the piezoelectric longitudinal effect. By this elongation, the upper ends of the first and second movable members 15 and 17 generate the angular displacements in the direction of arrow marks D and E via the first and second combination members 8 and 10, and the wire pin 22 is displaced in the direction of arrow mark F via movable member 20 connected to both movable members 15 and 17 and printing is carried out.
