Force and moment sensor
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To detect easily a three-dimensional force and a moment without requiring a complicated operation by arranging three cylindrical hollow members so as to be orthogonal to each other in a three-dimensional space, and installing a pair of gauges onto their surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical hollow members 2, 3 are fixed so as to be orthogonal to the side face of a pedestal of a cylindrical hollow member 1 having a square pedestal. Also, cylindrical hollow members 5, 6 are fixed to the cylindrical hollow members 2, 3 so as to be orthogonal to them on the same plane. An (x) component, a (y) component and a (z) component of an external force are measured by a two gauge method by a pair of the first strain gauges 11 installed in each direction of an (x) axis, a (y) axis and a (z) axis. Also, a moment around the (x) axis, the (y) axis and the (z) axis by the external force is measured by a four gauge method by a pair of the second strain gauges 12 installed in each direction of the (x) axis, the (y) axis and the (z) axis.
