Ink jet head
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To facilitate arranging piezoelectric elements, by providing piezoelectric elements having a direction of polarization perpendicular to the first electrode, and a stiff member laminated on the surface of the piezoelectric elements through the second electrode and supporting a laminated part on a head body. CONSTITUTION:When an ink is charged into a passage and a driving signal from a controlling circuit is impressed between electrodes 8 and an electrode 10, a voltage is impressed on the piezoelectric elements 4 through electrodes 5, 6. Let the voltage thus impressed be V, then a strain of epsilon-d33V/Le is generated in the elements 4, whereby a vibrating plate 3 is bent to pressurize the ink contained in a pressurizing chamber 2 and to jet out the ink through a nozzle 11, thereby recording. Since the thickness Lg of the stiff member 9 is 100 times of that of the plate 3, the flexural rigidity becomes 100<3>=10<6> times, so that almost all of the deformation of the elements 4 is transmitted to the vibrating plate 3. In general, it is sufficient for the flexural rigidity of the member 9 to be 100 times of the vibrating plate 3.
