Device for producing ultra-pure water
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To maintain a membrane separator in a germ-free state even if the separator is not subjected to sterilization for six or more months by maintaining the inside of the separator in a positive pressure, that is, pressurized state to prevent backflow of bacteria by said state when the operation of the separator is stopped. CONSTITUTION:Stop valves V1, V2 are respectively provided to a discharge pipe 9, and a stop valve V3 and a pressure switch 10 are provided between a water feed pump 3 and a membrane separator 1 to a water feed pipe 2. The valves V1, V2 are closed in the stage of stopping the operation of the separator 1 and after a while the pump 3 stopped and the valve V3 is closed to maintain the inside of the separator under the positive pressure. The internal pressure of the separator is monitored by a pressure switch 10 during the time when the water level in the tank decreases to some extent and the operation of the separator in resumed. When the internal pressure decreases down to a permissible limit, the switch 10 opens the valve V3 on detecting said decrease and drives at the same time the pump 3. When the internal pressure of the separator increases, the pump 3 is stopped and the valve 3 is closed.
