Driving method of optical shutter array element
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce variance of the intensity of transmitted light when a channel is set to the open state with various voltage impression patterns, by impressing a voltage so that the direction of the electric field is inverted between the first half part and the latter half part in the voltage impression time. CONSTITUTION:Voltages in a low level L and a high level H are impressed to electrodes 106 and 107 with the same voltage impression patterns (a) and (b) so that their impressions are shifted from each other with respect to time. When the electrode 107 is viewed from the electrode 106, a voltage impression pattern (c) where a channel CH5 is in the open state is in the high level H in the first half part of the stable impression time and is in the low level L in the latter half part. Consequently, voltages are so impressed that the direction of the electric field in the first half part in the voltage impression time and that in the latter half part are opposite to each other. Voltage impression patterns used for electrodes 106 and 107 are impressed to electrodes 102-105 and electrodes 108- 111 to measure wavelength-transmitted light intensity characteristics; and as the result, variance of the intensity of transmitted light is reduced if an optical shutter array element is driven by these voltage impression patterns.
