Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of cooling water piping by diverging a sub-radiator cooling water passage from a heater cooling water feed pipe, laid between an engine and a heater, via a cooling water return passage and a divergence port containing a thermostat operation change-over valve. CONSTITUTION:The inlet part 63 communicating each other a cooling water return passage 17 and a divergence port 8 which diverges a sub-radiator cooling water feed pipe 3 from a heater cooling water feed pipe 7 is opened and closed by operating a valve body 72 by means of the temperature regulation layer 66 of an opening and closing valve. In operation of an engine, the driving device 42 of a thermostat 39 is simply exposed to current of cooling water. Accurately responding to temperature of cooling water, the driving device 42 drives the primary and secondary valve bodies 40 and 41 to open and close the exit part 68 of the heater cooling water feed pipe 7 and a valve port 53. Cooling water may be selectively fed to a sub-radiator or a heater according to temperature of the water, whereby simplifying the construction of the cooling water piping.
