Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain long recording and reproducing characterized by highly efficient sound quality and multi-channel sound signals by adding multi-channel sound FM modulation and demodulation circuits to a video tape recorder for recording and reproducing video signals. CONSTITUTION:At the time of a video tape recorder mode, a video signal from a recording video signal processing circuit 6 and a sound FM signal from a sound FM modulation circuit 10 are recorded in a video tape through a video head 3, a reproduced video signal is obtained by a reproducing video signal processing circuit 9 through the head 3 and the reproduced sound signal is obtained by an FM demodulation circuit 11. At the time of a sound tape recorder mode, plural sound signals are modulated by the circuit 10 and then recorded through the head 3 and the recorded sound FM signals are applied to the circuit 11 and demodulated to obtain reproduced sound signals.
