Manufacture of organopolysiloxane

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a stable organopolysiloxane by first polymerizing organosiloxane using alkali metal compound as catalyst followed by adding to the resultant system triorganohalosilane and hexaorganodisilazane to perform neutralization. CONSTITUTION:(A) An organosiloxane is polymerized using, as catalyst, (B) an alkali metal compound such as KOH, followed by adding to the resultant system (C) a triorganohalosilane and (D) a hexaorganodisilazane to carry out the neutralization of the above catalyst, thus obtaining the objective organopolysiloxane stabilized. EFFECT:Resulting in improvement in heat resistance and corrosion-proof capability against metals brought into contact, also decreased electrical conductivity of the extracts.
