Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the area of nozzle which is suitable for the operating condition of an engine at all times by driving an opening and closing valve in accordance with the operating condition. CONSTITUTION:Upon the high speed high load operation of the engine, a solenoid is energized by a control unit in addition to the lift of a needle valve. According to this method, a spool valve 17 is lifted by a predetermined distance, second group of nozzles 21, 21... are communicated with a suction chamber 22 through an annular groove 17b and fuel is injected into a combustion chamber through the second group of the nozzles 21, 21.... Accordingly, the total nozzle area is increased as compared with an idling time or a low load low speed time and the optimum injection may be effected.
