Single-phase induction motor
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To shorten the operating time to the completion of start by connecting a heating positive temperature coefficient thermistor in parallel with a thermal switch, and thermally coupling it to a starting positive temperature coefficient thermistor. CONSTITUTION:When a thermal switch 4 is OFF, a heating positive temperature coefficient thermistor 7 becomes heated state (high resistance state). Since the thermistor 7 heats a starting positive temperature coefficient thermistor 3, the temperature of the thermistor 3 becomes approx. 80 deg.C that reaches Curie point. When the switch 4 becomes ON, the thermistor 7 stops heating. Simultaneously, large current necessary for starting is flowed to a main winding 1 and an auxiliary winding 2, thereby starting the rotation. Then, the thermistor 3 is self- heated to exceed the Curie point, thereby completing the starting.
