Tungsten carbide-base sintered hard alloy for cutting tool
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled sintered hard alloy with superior wear resistance and shock resistance by adding specified percentages of Co, soluble carbide of Ti and W, TiN, TaC and NbC to WC and by forming a hard dispersed phase consisting of specified three phases. CONSTITUTION:A WC-base sintered hard alloy consisting of, by weight, 5- 15% Co, 5-60% soluble carbide of Ti and W, 5-40% TiN, 1-15% one or more among TaC, NbC and soluble carbide of Ta and Nb, and the balance WC with inevitable impurities is prepd. The hard dispersed phase of the alloy consists of a WC phase, a phase of soluble carbide of Ti, W and Ta and/or Nb having <=2mum average grain size, and a TiN phase.
