Row-boat with float
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To achieve a higher lateral stability without increasing the propulsion resistance by mounting a float at the tip of an outrigger which is stretched out over the water surface from both sides of a boat being provided with an oar clutch. CONSTITUTION:In a row-boat in which an outrigger 2 is stretched out over the water surface from both sides thereof with an oar clutch 4, a float 6 is provided at the tip of the outrigger with a space above the water surface. With such an arrangement, the float 6 touches water to enhance the lateral stability with a greater restoring force regardless of the inclination of the boat during the boarding and disembarking of the crew. In normal rowing, the float 6 is positioned off the water surface, posing no resistance during the propulsion.
