Automatic tracking focus detection device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To move a distance measuring visual field while tracking an object to detect the focus or control the focus by detecting automatically whether the object is moved or not and detecting automatically the moving direction or the moving position if the object is moved. CONSTITUTION:Color difference signals (R-Y) and (B-Y) obtained as time series signals from picture elements A, B, and C are subjected to processings of integration, sample holding, and A/D conversion by integrating circuits 100a and 100b, sample hold (S/H) circuits 101a and 101b, and A/D converting circuits 102a and 102b. Processing results are stored in memories 103a and 103b. These stored values are displayed as a plot on orthogonal coordinates of (R-Y) and (B-Y) with respect to picture elements, A, B, and C. Since the moving position, the moving direction, or the like of the object is displayed, the distance measuring visual field is moved while tracking the object.
