Device for preventing confidential document from being copied

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the copying operation or make copied contents unreadable by providing a means, which is scanned two-dimensionally to detect the existence of a metallic layer, and a control means. CONSTITUTION:An attaching base of a proximity detector 5 is moved traverse, and simultaneously, the proximity detector 5 is moved in parallel with a copy lamp 8 by a motor 6 to scan an original 3 two-dimensionally. If the original 3 having the metallic layer indicating confidential documents is copied, the signal of the proximity detector 5 is changed to X, Y, and Z by an oscillating circuit, a detecting circuit, and a Schmitt circuit, and a control circuit 15 raises an alarm of metallic layer detection to stop the copying operation. Otherwise, an exposure lamp 8 is turned off to make copied contents unreadable. Thus, confidential documents are prevented from being copied.
