Optical fiber block of copying machine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain copies of high qualities by bundling numerous optical fibers in a shape of nearly triangular prism in such a way that one end of the bundle is allowed to contact with a platen glass and the other end with the seam of a thick book and inserting the bundle into the space between the platen glass and the seam of the book. CONSTITUTION:A book 6 is placed on an original platen 9 elastically supported in a book handler 4 with a desired page of the book being exposed. Then a platen glass 5 is closed by a hinge mechanism not shown in the figure and the book 6 is pressed. Numerous optical fibers 7 are bundled in a triangular prism suitably to the triangular space formed between the platen glass 5 and book 6, and one ends of each fiber 7 is allowed to contact with the platen glass 5 and the other ends with the seam 3b of the book 6. The book 6 is irradiated from the upper side of the platen glass with a light source 11 and lights reflected by the book 6 are processed by means of an optical system not shown in the figure. Therefore, patterns in the vicinity of the seam of a thick book can be copied excellently.
