Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To perform the simple and rapid quantitative analysis of the concn. of glucose in a non-dilute specimen, by mounting a glucose oxidase immobolized enzyme membrane tothe reaction surface of a hydrogen peroxide electrode and bringing the non-diluted specimen into contact with the obtained enzyme electrode. CONSTITUTION:An immobilized glucose oxidase film 6 is held to the surface of a hydrogen peroxide electrode 7 consisting of a platinum anode 1 and a silver catode 2 in a closely adhered state to constitute an enzyme electrode 8. At the time of measurement, said enzyme electrode 8 is brought into contact with a glucose-containing non-diluted specimen 10 to generate reaction represented by formula by immobilized glucose oxidase and glucose is decomposed to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. This formed hydrogen peroxide is oxidized by the hydrogen peroxide electrode 7 to generate an oxidation current proportional to the concn. of glucose and this oxidation current is measured by a polarograph apparatus 13 to calculate the concn. of glucose in the specimen from the measured value.
