Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To read assuredly an original with high flatness by carrying the original by a conveyor belt, and holding the original at a place near the reading position to feed the original while guiding the original curl area to the original reading position. CONSTITUTION:An original 0 is fed to a conveyor belt 2. If the original has a curl on its tip, the tip goes along an opening formed by a slope part 15A hooked over guide rolls 14 and 13 of a guide conveyor belt 15. Then the entire surface of the original is successively rolled on the belt 2 through a horizontal part 15B. Under such conditions, the original passes through the original reading part while having a close contact with the belt 2 by means pressure rolls 8-11. Meanwhile a laser beam 3 gives a main scan successively to the original after the light irradiated to a projector 17 receives an original detecting signal. The reflected light 18 is condensed to a transparent acrylic rod 7 through an intra- face reflecting mirror 5 and read by a photodetector.
