Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve drive feeling by providing the time lag for increasing the engine revolution speed to the speed corresponding to a car speed, when the ordinary speed change state is restored from neutral state. CONSTITUTION:An automatic speed change gear 12 is equipped with an output- shaft revolution-speed detector 18 and a speed change ratio detector 19, and an engine 10 is equipped with an engine speed detector 20 and an idle detecting apparatus 22, and each output of these detectors 18, 19 20 and 22 is input into a neutral controller 24. If the difference between the turbine revolution speed and the engine revolution speed becomes below a prescribed value, when the idle detecting apparatus 22 outputs a signal for indicating the switching from idle position to nonidle position, a neutral actuator is operated into nonneutral state. Therefore, when a throttle opening degree is increased from the throttle opening degree of zero during traveling, the action of engine brake can be prevented, and drive feeling can be improved.
