Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To aim at shortening a span of time a starter is overrun, by calculating a difference between both upper and lower limits in a ripple of the electric current and voltage of a starter motor, while comparing this ripple width with a reference set value and thereby judging a state of engine ignition. CONSTITUTION:In time of closing a starter switch 15 and driving a starter motor 13, terminal voltage in a shaft 12 is inputted into a ripple voltage detecting device 1, while halved-pressure output hereat is differentiated (2) and, after being converted (3) into a rectangular waveform, it is inputted into each of negative sense and positive sense differentiation circuits 4 and 5. A beardlike differential waveform knowing upper and lower phase limits of an output voltage waveform is secured at these circuits 4 and 5, and each differential waveform is triggered, making both first and second sample holder circuits 6 and 7 hold an output signal out of the circuit 1. And, the value made up of adding output of the holder circuit 6 to output of the holder circuit 7 after being turned over is compared with the set value, and a control relay 11 is controlled by the compared output, thus the starter motor is stopped.
