Air flow distributing apparatus of air conditioner for automobile

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To adjust arbitrarily the ratio of the air flow distributions to air outlets, by changing the opening areas of distributing openings using dampers driven in response to the lever operation. CONSTITUTION:When a lever 15a is operated, the action thereof is transmitted via a wire 16 to a connecting plate 14 that in turn moves left and right dampers 12, 13, and according to the displacements of the dampers, the opening of each of the dampers can be adjusted securely in a stepless manner. When the lever 15a is positioned at its intermediate position within its working range, and if the left and right dampers 12, 13 are secured at such positions that the pressure losses from an air flow distributing box 2 to left and right side air outlets 5, 6 becomes the same, the air outlets 5, 6 blow the same volume of conditioned air. When the lever 15a is positioned at the rightmost position in the working range, the left damper 12 closes the inlet of a left duct 3, whereas the right damper 13 maximizes the opening of the inlet of a right duct 4.
