Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable more stable automatic feed of a sheet even if a sheet feed belt and a separate belt are reduced in the coefficient of friction due to paper powder, contaminant, etc., by installing a document pressing plate. CONSTITUTION:A delivery force is exerted on the uppermost surface of a document on a tray 1 by means of an auxiliary roller 7, the uppermost document is previously separated at a portion G on the tray 1, the sheets are further separated one by one between a sheet feed belt 6 and a separate belt 17, and finally only the single uppermost document is delivered. When the forward end of said single document separated in a way in which the sheets are separated one by one is detected by a sensor 52 disposed between a sheet feed drive shaft 2 and a sheet feed driven shaft 3, a plunger is turned OFF, an auxiliary roller is moved upward, the feed of the document by means of the auxiliary roller is stopped at this point of time, the uppermost document is consecutively fed through rotation of the sheet feed belt 6 and is admitted in the setter part side. Meanwhile, a document press plate 102 presses the document against the sheet feed belt 6.
