Intermediate heat exchanger for fast breeder reactor
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve workability and safety performed by reducing exposure by a method wherein a through hole is provided on the mirror plate of inside tube and the hole is sealed by a sealing member provided at the end of a dip tube movable up-and-down through the through hole in order to permit primary and secondary coolant to drain into a main vessel simultaneously with the extraction of the intermediate heat exchanger in case the intermediate heat exchanger should be extracted for maintenance. CONSTITUTION:The mirror plate 31 is provided with the through hole 39 at the center thereof. The through hole 39 is blocked by the dip tube 32 normally through the seal member 47 and an O-ring 40. When the dip tube 32 is rotated, it is ascended by a screw 43 and the primary coolant 15 is communicated with the secondary coolant 23 through the through hole 39. Accordingly, when the intermediate heat exchanger 14 is ascended by a ceiling crane, the secondary coolant 23 in the intermediate heat exchanger 14 flows out into the main vessel since the mirror plate 31 is at the lowest position among the positions whereat the secondary coolant 23 exists in the intermediate heat exchanger 14.
