Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To smooth the proceeding of a main routine with a lessened occurrence of the interrupt subroutine by operating a shift register with a knocking pulse to generate internal interrupt by a resulting overflow signal for knocking decision processing. CONSTITUTION:Each time eight knocking pulses are inputted into a shift register 26, an overflow signal is outputted from a shift register 27. An interrupt is generated by this overflow signal and shifted to an interrupt subroutine. Then, counts of a counting means 27 are multiplied eight times by a multiplying means 28 and the results of the multiplication of the multiplying means 28 is added to a hold value of the shift register 26 by an addition means 29. Then, the results of the addition by the addition means 29 provides knocking pulse number outputted from a comparator 6 during the period between ignitions. Thus, the results of addition of the addition means 29 are inputted into a knocking decision means 22 to enable the decision on the presence and degree of knocking.
