Built-up crankshaft

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable to form a cavity utilizing as an oil reservoir in a crankshaft with precision and ease by a structure wherein a built-up structure consisting in joining a pair of arm parts having the same figure is employed. CONSTITUTION:Crankpin half bodies 11a and 11b respectively having tapered holes 16a and 16b, the inside diameter of which increases as the hole gets near to tip side, are provided at one side of each of arm parts 10a and 10b, while projections 14a and 14b, which have recesses 21a and 21b open at their tip sides and are to be a part of each of journal parts 12 and 13, are provided. The arm parts 10a and 10b, which are formed by forging in the same form as described above, are welded together at the tip split surface 15 of the crankpin half bodies 11a and 11b in order to form the oil reservoir 17 consisting of both the taper holes 16a and 16b equipped with an inlet 19 and an outlet 18 for lubricating oil.
