Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a disturbance of communication as well as to collect the charge assuredly and to facilitate easy maintenance and inspection, by dividing terminal devices into a connection unit set at a subscriber home and a main terminal unit separated from the subscriber home. CONSTITUTION:Both the TV signal to be supplied to a unit A and the data communication signal to be transmitted between a main terminal unit B and the unit A are transmitted with multiplication of frequency via a cable 12 connected between the unit B and a connection unit. The down-data signal sent from a center is separated by a data separating unit 23 and demodulated by a high- speed data MODEM24. This demodulated data signal undergoes an address collation and an error check by a communication control unit 25 and is sent to a terminal control unit 26. In response to a call from the center, ther unit 26 reports the charged program data of each subscriber, the channel data, the power supply ON/OFF data of a TV picture receiver 16, and the state of units A and B, and a remote console 15, etc. Thus the disturbance of communication is prevented, and the charge can be assuredly collected by dividing terminal devices into the units inside and outside a subscriber home respectively.
