Flow divider valve classified by temperature
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To make a valve to be automatically opened and closed in response to temperature, divide a flow of fluid being classified by temperature, accumulate its heat per each temperature and present the informations for recycling operation, by utilizing the properties of a shape memory alloy changing its shape in accordance with a change of temperature and allowing the valve itself to sense a change of temperature in the thermal fluid. CONSTITUTION:A seat ring 5 of soft material penetrated by struts 8 is secured in a position as near as possible on a border line where a flow inlet pipe 2 branches into a flow divider pipe 3 and a flow divider pipe 4. An optional number of thin petal or sectorial shape memory alloys 7 are set in a petallike pattern, focusing one end of each of them in the central part of the strut 8 about a supporting point 6 serving as the center. The alloy 7 contracts and extends by itself upon a change of temperature of fed thermal fluid A, while opening and closing a part between the seat ring 5 and the alloy to behave as a valve. Accordingly, effective power can be displayed in classification of the thermal fluid from a heat source such as solar heat energy and waste heat of a plant or the like where unevenness of temperature is expected.
