Production of casting mold
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To decrease the generation of any casting defect by adding an oleic acid to sand particles for a casting mold kept at a specific temp., mulling the particles and molding the same to an intended shape then cooling the mold to a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:An oleic acid or dioxane is added to sand particles for a casting mold kept at a temp. higher than 30 deg.C and the particles are kneaded. The kneaded sand is filled in a pattern and is molded to an intended shape, whereafter the molding is cooled to the freezing temp. of the oleic acid or dioxane or below to harden the casting mold. Since the melting temp. of the oleic acid is 14 deg.C, the freezing is easier than the case in which water is used, and the casting mold after the freezing is hardly melting and is easy to handle. A binder of an org. material is used and since no water exists, less defects are generated in the casting.
