Connection part of jelly-charged optical fiber cable
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a jelly from flowing out and facilitate reconnecting optical fiber cores, by incorporating respective sheath ends and cable cores of two jelly-charged optical fiber cables in a common resin mold part and leading out the excess long part of each fiber core from this part. CONSTITUTION:Since end parts of sheaths 2 and 2' and cable cores 3 and 3' of optical fiber cables 1 and 1' to be connected to each other are incorporated in a common resin mold part 4 and are sealed, the jelly is prevented from flowing out from the side of cables 1 and 1', and the lowering of the waterproof capacity of cables 1 and 1' is prevented. Excess long parts of optical fiber cores 5 and 5' are led to the outside of the resin mold part 4, and a core connection part 6 is provided on the outside of the resin mold part 4, and therefore, the reconnecting work or the like of optical fiber cores 5 and 5' is performed easily.
