Camshaft vibration suppressor of internal-combustion engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To absorb the torsional vibration developed in a camshaft by a structure wherein a weight body unit having an annular weight body through elastic coupling body onto the outer periphery of an annular member is fitted at the end of a camshaft in an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A torsional damper 6 is fixed at the end of a camshaft 2. The torsional damper 6 consists of an inner annular member 7 and an annular weight body 9, which is integrally bonded by baking or the like through an annular elastic coupling body 8 made of rubber or the like onto the outer periphery of the inner annular member 7. Low frequency torsional vibrations developed in the camshaft 2 during running are absorbed by the elastic coupling body 8 and the annular weight body 9 in order to reduce said torsional vibrations. An appropriate hardness of the elastic coupling body 8 is selected in response to the frequency of torsional vibration to be absorbed.
