Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a printer in which no scraping occurs at the time of spacing by using a system in which a printing medium pusher not moving at the time of spacing is detected by a sensor moving along with a printing head, and by its signal, the position of the printing head is controlled. CONSTITUTION:When a printing medium 20 is sucked up, the medium 20 is pushed by a printing medium pusher 14, and a printing head 1, a head base 3, and a photo sensor 4 go down by the tension of a spring 10 and under their own weights, but are stopped when the folded part 141 of the pusher 14 is detected by the photo sensor 4. The photo sensor 4 is attached so as to satisfy the relationship b=h-a (where a is a proper interval between the tip of the printing head 1 and the face of the printing medium 20).
