Heat transfer recorder

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate wrinkles of a transfer ribbon and prevent missing in printing, excessive overheating or the like, by providing a wrinkle-stretching means for contacting the ribbon on a ribbon guide and imparting a tension to the ribbon, in a heat transfer recorder using a heat transfer ribbon. CONSTITUTION:The heat transfer ribbon 6 is feed from a let-out reel 7, thereafter it is fed between a platen 1 and the first guide roller 3, between the platen 1 and a heat-sensitive head 4 and between the platen 1 and the second guide roller 5 in the condition of making close contact with a transfer paper P, and is taken up by a take-up reel 8. An appropriate brake is applied to the feed reel 7 to constantly impart a tension to the ribbon 6 between the head 4 and the reel 7. When a wrinkle-stretching roller 17 formed of a foamed polyurethane rubber and provided with a symmetrical spiral form projected parts 18 is rotated in sliding contact with the ribbon 6, tensions are applied to the ribbon from a central part to both end parts, whereby wrinkles are forcibly removed.
