Dimming plastic composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:The titled composition, prepared by incorporating a fine glass powder with a specific polymerizable monomer and an oligomer in a specific proportion, capable of giving a transparent polymer and transparent coated material, and useful as a window glass, coating agent, etc. CONSTITUTION:A dimming plastic composition prepared by treating (A) 5- 100pts.wt., preferably 10-50pts.wt., fine dimming glass powder, preferably having <=5mm. particle diameter, preferably with previously a silane coupling agent, etc., adding the resultant treated fine dimming glass powder and if necessary a radical initiator, photosensitizer, etc. to (B) 100pts.wt. polymerizable monomer, e.g. styrene or an alkylstyrene, acrylic or methacrylic acid ester, and/or an oligomer, e.g. epoxyacrylate or polyester acrylate, having within + or -0.01 difference of the refractive index after the polymerization from that of the component (A), and uniformly mixing the components (A) with (B).
