Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify the plotting work, by adding a display device which displays a specific pattern, color, luminance, etc. in relation to the position of a spot on a CRT and a display content controlling part to a light pen. CONSTITUTION:A light pen 10 is provided with a photodetecting element 3, a display content controlling part 11 and a display part 12. The part 11 can control the size of a spot and the thickness of a line on a CRT by means of a linear potentiometer provided in a holder of the pen 10 and also control the hue by means of a circular potentiometer provided at the tip part of the holder of the pen 10. The output of the part 11 is sent to a graphic display circuit 7 and the part 12. The output of the element 3 is supplied to a luminous point position calculating circuit 5. The circuit 5 receives the synchronizing signals at the same time from a scanning circuit 6 to calculate the position of the luminous point and sends the output of calculation to the circuit 7. An operator can use selectively pens 10 having different colors and diameters and also change the display contents based on the position on a CRT1 in response to the data related to the display.
