Leveling work of rubble-mound on bottom under water
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To make the leveling work of rubble-mound under water efficient by a method in which the raker of a leveler settled on the rubble-mound is rectiprocally moved and then the surface of the rubble-mound is compacted by a tamping roller. CONSTITUTION:A leveler A for rubble-mound under water is made up by a raker 26 and a tamping roller 27 to a truck 15 movably supported on the body leg frame 5 with expandible legs 6. Air is charged into the float tanks 34 of the leveler A and the leveler A is towed to a given place by a crane ship 36. The leveler A is then hung down by a crane 37, water is charged into the tanks 34 to settle the leveler A, and the legs 6 are landed and adjusted to make the frame 5 horizontal. Then, the raker 26 is set at a given height, while the truck 15 is moved back and forth to level off the rubble-mound, the raker 26 is raised, the tamping roller 27 is brought down for finish leveling work, the roller 27 is housed, and then the leveler A is moved over a given distance. Then, the same operations are repeated.
