Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To transfer efficiently start-stop data in the range not interrupting voice communication, by deciding a non-voice discriminating level during voice communication in proportion to the amount of start-stop data communication in the voice communication using a linear predictive coding digital vocoder. CONSTITUTION:Serial data from a terminal DTE45 is converted in parallel by a UART20, reported to a CONT21 at every completion of one byte, and the CONT 21 stores it in an FIFO17, which is a queue buffer performing an FIFO operation so as to absorb the speed difference between an input data speed and the speed transmitted to a BUF13. An SLVL 19 sets variably the non-voice discrimination threshold value in response to the queue data in the FIFO17 so as not to decrease the communication efficiency in the range not giving adverse effect on the quality of communication. That is, the CONT21 adjusts a value in the SLVL19 in response to the amount of data storage in the FIFO17 and the value in the SLVL19 is controlled so as to be increased with increased storage amount thereby making the range of non-voice state wide and improving the transfer efficiency of the start-stop data.
