Plane array antenna
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To miniaturize an antenna, by providing axially a slit on an H plane in common use for a rectangular waveguide of the standard size and that of a large size and providing plural slots for irradiating an electro magnetic wave. CONSTITUTION:The plane array antenna is constituted with the waveguide 1 of the standard size propagating a low-order TE10 mode and the waveguide 2 of the large size converting the mode of the waveguide 1 into the high-order TEn0 mode (n>1) and propagating the high-order mode. The phase constant is taken equal to that of the waveguide 1 at the center frequency of the waveguide 2 and both ends of the waveguide 2 is shielded. The slit 4 is formed to the H plane in common use of the waveguides 1, 2 and the waveguides 1, 2 are coupled electromagnetically with the slit 4. Further, plural slots 3 are provided on the other H plane of the waveguide 2, an electromagnetic wave is irradiated from the slot 3, allowing to miniaturize the plane array antenna.
