Adhesive composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a compsn. having good adhesion to FRP moldings and PVC sheet or film, consisting of a specified unsaturated polyester resin, a polyisocyanate compd. and a thermoplastic polyurethane resin. CONSTITUTION:The titled adhesive compsn. is obtd. by incorporating 80- 10pts.wt. polyisocyanate compd. (A) having an MW of 150-2,000 and not more than 80% (based on the combined quantity of components A and C) thermoplastic polyurethane resin in 100pts.wt. unsaturated polyester resin (C) which has an MW of 1,000-10,000 and can give cast material having a Rockwell hardness (M scale) of 110 or below. When this compsn. is used, PVC sheet or film can be bonded to a molding composed of FRP, SMC or BMC at a high strength without the need of sanding or other physical treatments.
