Optical information recording disc

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent intrusion of moisture and oxygen into an information recording layer and sepn. thereof and to provide a disc which has stable recording, reproducing and erasing characteristics for a long period of time by providing an intermediate layer of org. silane between the recording layer provided on a base plate of a transparent plastic base plate. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer 2 is formed on a transparent plastic base plate 1 of PMMA or PC and a recording layer 3 of, for example, TbFe is further formed thereon. A transparent inorg. material protective layer is further provided if necessary on B1. The intermediate layer suitable for this invention is adequate for use if said layer is transparent and smooth. It is necessary to take the adhesion between the base plate and the recording layer, hardness, etc. into consideration. Org. silane excels in hardnes sand wear resistance and is more particularly preferable as the intermediate layer. Methyl triisopropoxy silane, methyl tributoxysilane, aminopropyl methoxysilane, glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane, N-beta-(N-vinyl benzylaminoethyl)-gamma-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane, etc. are used for the org. silane. The intermediate layer is formed to 500- 2,000Angstrom thickness.
