Abstract
Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R1 is H; R2 is lower alkyl; R3 is H, tert-butyldimethylsilyl, triethylsilyl or benzyl; R4 is lower alkyl). USE:An intermediate for mevinolin, mevinolinic acid, etc. The mevinolin is a remedy for hyperlipemia and a preventing agent for arteriosclerosis. PREPARATION:A compound of formula II is oxidized with chromic acid or dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and the resultant oxidation product is then treated with an acid to give the aimed compound of formula I .
