Microstrip antenna
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To realize a low axial ratio extending over a wide band by providing a very small notch on a part of a microstrip patch, and generating such an elliptical polarized wave as cancels an elliptical polarized wave which deteriorates an axial ratio. CONSTITUTION:In an orthogonal coordinate for connecting the center of a circular patch 1 and feeding points 4a, 4b, a degenerated separating element 11 obtained by cutting off a part of the circular patch is loaded onto a straight line which is parallel to the two feeding points 4a, 4b and passes through the original point. First of all, when only the feeding point 4a is fed, since the feeding point 4b exists, an elliptical polarized wave E1 which turns counterclockwise and E1' caused by a fact that the degenerated separating element exists are radiated, and as for E1', its radiating electric field becomes a linear polarized wave having an electric field component in a direction (j) by adjusting a dimension of the degenerated separating element. Subsequently, when only the feeding point 4b is fed, since the feeding point 4a exists, an elliptical polarized wave E2 which turns clockwise and E2' caused by a fact that the degenerated separating element exists are radiated, and its radiating electric field becomes a linear polarized wave having an electric field component in a direction (i). Accordingly, when the feeding point 4a and the feeding point 4b are fed by a phase of ''0'' degree and -90 degrees, respectively, a radiating electric field E' becomes a complete counterclockwise turning circularly polarized wave.
