Travelling machine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a travelling machine capable of freely travelling on a complex road surface, by equipping it with a guide-rail driving mechanism for developing and folding a guide rail. CONSTITUTION:In case of using a travelling mechanism 4 as a wheel, a spoke assembly 30 is rotated until each spoke member 30a reaches a connection at an end of a guide rail 7 and the guide rail 7 is developed to form a circle. In case of using the mechanism 4 as a crawler, the guide rail 7 is kept in circularly developed from, and a sprocket 20 is rotated with an axle 5 fixed, and an endless track 13 is travelled along the guide rail 7. In case of using the mechanism 4 as an arm assembly, a spoke assembly 30 is rotated in such a manner that each spoke 30a is accommodated in the arm assembly 6, and thereby each guide rail 7 is attracted by the spoke 30a to be folded along arm members 6a, thus forming the arm assembly having three arm members.
