Method for displaying position information in web

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To display exactly position information at prescribed positions in a web, by forming plural holes disposed in the lengthwise direction of the web by laser and forming position codes consisting of arrangement of holes different from each other. CONSTITUTION:Specific position codes 100 are formed at fixed intervals in the lengthwise direction of a web 1 at the side edge part of one side of the running web 1, and the running web 1 is guided by a follower roll 4 and the number of revolutions of the follower roll 4 is detected by a revolution detector 5 and this detected signal is supplied to a controlling part 3. By transferring a command signal corresponding to the position codes 100 to be formed to a laser oscillator 2 through a laser oscillation power source 21 is accordance with the detected signal from the controlling part 3, the laser oscillator 2 is operated and holes are made by irradiating laser light to prescribed positions of the web 1 to form the position codes 100 consisting of arrangement of holes different from each other.
