Simultaneous multiple tomography
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To simultaneously obtain plural tomogram images which are high in the diagnostic performance, by using a laminated body composed of plural accumulation type phosphor sheets, in which an accumulation type phosphor sheet having a higher X-ray utilization efficiency is positioned farther from an object of X-ray. CONSTITUTION:At the time of tomography, an X-ray tube 11 and cassette 13 are moved in the direction of arrows 15 and 16, respectively, and X-rays are irradiated upon an object 14 from the X-ray tube 11. As a result, tomogram images of cutting planes 18a, 18b,...18n of the object 14 are successively accumulated and stored in accumulation type phosphor sheets 12a, 12b,...12n. In this case, the X-ray energy passing through the objective 14 is absorbed by each sheet under a uniformly distributed condition, because a sheet having a higher X-ray utilization efficiency is positioned farther from the object 14 among the accumulated phosphor sheets 12a, 12b,...12n. Therefore, when the tomogram images are changed into visual images, their picture quality becomes uniform through each image.
