Toner for developing electrostatic charge image and its manufacture

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image with superior charge characteristics by adding trialkylamine as a charge controller to a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by formula I (where each of R1, R2 and R3 is alkyl), e.g., trioctylamine represented by formula II is used as a charge controller. About 1-20pts.wt. coloring agent such as carbon black and about 0.1-15pts.wt. said compound as a charge controller are added to 100pts.wt. binder resin such as a styrene-butyl acrylate copolymer having about 80-180 deg.C softening point or a mixture of the copolymer with an olefin polymer having about 100-180 deg.C softening point. They are melted and kneaded, and the kneaded material is cooled, pulverized, and classified to obtain a toner.
