Reference voltage generating circuit
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To generate the reference voltage of a small temperature coefficient through a resistance terminal, by setting in parallel a series circuit of plural diodes and a series circuit of collector-base short type transistors less than the diodes by at least one unit and a resistance. CONSTITUTION:Plural units, e.g. three diodes 4, 7 and 8 are connected in series to a constant current circuit 2 and grounded. Then a current IA is flowed to these diodes. At the same time, the collector-base short type transistors (TR)9 and 10 which are less than the diodes by at least one unit and a resistance 11 are set in series to connect the circuit 2 and the earth, and a current I3 is flowed to these TRs and resistance. Then the reference voltage of good temperature characteristics is delivered through a terminal 3 at the power supply side of the resistance 11 by making use of the difference between a small temperature coefficient of the forward voltage of the diodes 4, 7 and 8 and a large temperature coefficient of the diode due to the TRs 9 and 10. For instance, the temperature characteristics m1 and m2 of the diode and the transistor respectively are set as m1=-1.8mv/ deg.C and m2=-2.5mv/ deg.C. In such a case, the temperature characteristics (m) of the terminal 3 in the diagram is set as m=3m1- 2m2=-0.4mv/ deg.C.
