Preheating conductor temperature detection device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To detect the temperature of a preheating conductor accurately without damaging a running conductor even when wire diameters of conductors are changed, by specifying the fitting position of a detector so that the detection terminal of a conductor temperature detector is in contact with the surface of the running conductor. CONSTITUTION:In a case body 12 which has an entrance 10 and an exit 11 for a running conductor A, a couple of guide bars 13 are provided in parallel, and a detector supporting plate 14 is provided movably along those guide bars 13. The supporting plate 14 is provided with a conductor temperature detector 17 and a switch 18 for controlling the operation of an electrically driven cylinder 15. Then, the cylinder 15 is put in operation to move the operating piece 19 of the switch 18 forth until it abuts on the running conductor A, and thus the switch 18 is operated to stop a piston rod 16. At this time, the fitting position of the detector 17 is so specified that the detection terminal 20 of the conductor temperature detector 17 abuts on the surface of the running conductor A. Further, a pressing piece 24 for operating switches 21 and 22 is fitted atop of a rod 23 fitted to the supporting plate 14.
