Preparation of hermetically sealing material

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a hermetically sealing material requiring no forced blending such as roll blending, etc., causng no freacture of foam of cork wall because of moldability at normal pressure at normal temperature, by curing a matrix comprising liquid elastomer preblended with cork granules. CONSTITUTION:A main agent of matrix comprising liquid elastomer preblended with cork granules is poured into a part such as a flange part to be provided with a sealing agent as the main agent of matrix is blended with a curing agent, and the main agent of matrix is cured, to give the desired sealing material. The addition of a metal layer or other polymer layer to the surface of the matrix preferably provides a hermetically sealing material with improved heat resistance, weather resistance, and chemical resistance. Liquid elastomer consisting of a polyhydroxybutadiene polymer having a melting point of 40-130 deg.C is preferably used as the matrix, and an isocyanate compound shown by the formula (R1-R3 are 1-3C lower alkyl; n is 1-4) as the curing agent. EFFECT:Capble of forming a sealing agent having the surface compatible with the face of flange.
