Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To ensure the optimum recording regardless of the variance of a recording medium, by performing trial recording with a light beam prior to main recording and with variation of the light volume and deciding the optimum light volume by the reproduced output of the trial recording to perform the control of light volume of the main recording. CONSTITUTION:Light volume controlling signal is supplied to a recording light beam transmitting part 6 prior to main recording and with variation with the lapse of time. Thus a modulated light beam 2, only the light volume of which varies with the lapse of time is obtained to perform the recording for decision of the optimum light volume. Then the contents recorded in a recording medium 1 are reproduced by a reproducing light beam 3. As a result, the output of a photoelectric transducer 13 varies in response to a change of the light volume. Therefore the reproduced output which is detected by an envelope wave detecting circuit 22 also has a change. Based on this change, the optimum light volume controlling signal corresponding to the optimum reproduced output is decided to be used to control the part 6. Thus the main recording signal is recorded.
